Been two years since I pulled the Ruger No.1 375 H&H out. And a year since I pulled the deluxe 30-06 760 game master out. Only reason is I reload just one bullet weight for each and am down to the last couple of rounds for each. They will get ammo loaded soon though. |

About 14 years ago, I bought a Springfield Armory M1 Garand (receiver serial puts it's birthday around October 1944) off some little old lady sitting alone in a corner at a gun show. Nobody was paying her any mind and I just happened to compliment her on the rifle as I was on my way out the door and she hinted that she had been trying get get rid of it but nobody would give her the time of day. She said it was her husband's rifle and that he was a Korean War vet that just recently passed away and she was selling the rifle before she moved in with one of her kids. I got the rifle, two bayonets (with US Ordnance markings), a bunch of enbloc clips, a few more enbloc clips loaded with .30 black tip, a leather sling, and a cloth bandolier all for WELL under market value. It has been sitting in my safe ever since... It'll go to my son when I cash out... |

A post WWII Springfield Armory M1 Garand (1952 if I remember right). Was a Greek return that was either not used or rebuilt and reparked in that black park a few people were getting at the time from CMP. The barrel looked new. I put maybe 5-6 enblocs of ammo through it, cleaned it and put it back in the safe. It has not been shot in 20 or more years. She's pretty. The gun is like new and was in such like new shape that I picked up another CMP Springfield Garand as my shooter. |

| Half my safe hasn't been out of the safe in awhile, but I don't believe in selling, so there you go. I mostly only shoot my handguns, I had a good chance this weekend because my wife's cousin was coming from Commiefornia but I didn't think to bring any of my cool guns for some reason, ended up taking another friend shooting, let him shoot an AR for the first time, so I guess there is that. |
