How was the NFA's rifle length barrel minimum changed? Was it an act of congress? I know it was as a result of a flood of M1 cabins with 16'' barrels returning home from WW2. But how was it done? Does this mean if there was the political will to do so over the pistol brace debacle it could just be done? How many carbines was it? What was the threshold that forced the fedz to change the rules? Why can't that be the case now? |

Why can't that be the case now? 1936 amendment changed 22 rifle barrel minimum length from 18" to 16" 1968 Gun Control Act changed centerfire rifle barrel minimum length from 18" to 16". Both were laws passed by Congress. Yes. 240,000 carbines were sold to NRA members by the DCM. The idea of locking up a quarter of a million people, and Army officers for willingly flouting the NFA. Communists. |

Because if you actually measure a USGI M1 Carbine barrel… it is under 18”. When I measured mine, came out to 17.75”. |
