Rust bluing doesn’t take much equipment, but does require a lot of labor. Most anything you can boil water in is suitable for rust bluing. Hot salt bluing requires more equipment and due to fumes is potentially more dangerous. I love the matte finish of rust bluing but some people don’t care for it. It’s an old Krag that’s a dime a dozen nothing special. I have done parkarizing at home with great success, now eating to try my hand at more. Great thread you provided. I never thought about just using my stove top to boil. Need to find a tray like that one though. |
