I have the camo version I got off the Ruger website a few years back. I love it. I got my wife the camo 10/22 version and my brother has the 10/22 mag version. Added some photos of the wife’s 10/22 since it was easy to get to. Small soft nubs gives it a good grip, with gloves on you even get a better grip. Similar on the mini-14. I have a beard and never had an issue with it. I do keep the beard trimmed. Maybe the design has changed after I bought mine off the Ruger website. Never had one of the longer stocks so I can’t answer to the flimsy part. The one on the 10/22 is solid. Mini-14 with the overmold stock.
