Planning to add another 22 suppressor host and I've narrowed it down to two options. Keep in mind I'm left handed and already have a lefty AR22 and a Tikka bolt action. 1 - Browning SA-22 I already own this rifle and it's one of the Japanese made Miroku's. It's a great little rifle. I like the bottom eject and the craftsmanship is great. I'm not threading the factory barrel but rather thinking of buying the necessary parts from Numrich and building a clone threaded upper. 2 - Savage Revel DLX Been looking at this one online. I got to handle one at a shop and seems to fit the bill as a fun lever-action suppressor host. |

Sort of apples to oranges The browning is a finely made refined design with classic lines The savages ( honestly I own a MKII and for the cost is a great gun) are much more utilitarian in design and production . Bear in mind a manually operated design will be quieter than a semi which tosses some sound out the ejection port, plus the noise of action reciprocating I run a can sometimes on my savage and the phrase “ Hollywood quiet “ certainly applies. |

While the semi's are louder, it's real easy to hold the Browning's bolt closed and manually operate it. Just bring your support hand back closer to the trigger guard. |

Make sure your suppressor has a narrow enough diameter to allow you to remove the magazine tube for reloading; most 1"-ish suppressor diameters will work. The lever gun will be stupid quiet with sub sonic ammo. The SA-22 would make a cool SBR candidate, also. Since Numrich has replacement barrels, and you are already thinking of building a new "upper" already. |
