I was just on an extended guided vacation in Egypt/Nile River. All the security that supported us carried an MP5K/20 rd mag on their right hip at about 4 o'clock and a double 20 rd mag pouch on their left at about 8 o'clock, under their suit jacket. I spoke to one guard about it and he said it is the most common for ex-military turned VIP/tourism security. He said most are made in Egypt under license from H&K. Sorry no pictures. Just thought I would share.

Double mag pouch definitely on the belt. MP5K less clear. The front sight hung slightly below the jacket - so I am guessing slung in some way, but no sling strap was visible from the front. I did not ask to many questions...the one security person I spoke with talked me more to be polite, but was not comfortable with the discussion. |
That's interesting. When we did the land tour to the Pyramids from our cruise ship back in the early 2000s (before the Coup d'tat of 2023), the tour's security escorts were carrying bulky Helwan 9mm (Beretta copy) under their suit jackets, secret service look alike sunglasses and comm ear pieces  and the bus driver had an AK47 by his seat. Sure made you wonder if they get robbed alot or this is just another 'government sanctioned' pocket lining. Conversely, we took the land tour to Jerusalem from the same cruise trip and our escorts were pretty young gals dressed normally like us tourists.
