With all the pistol type 308 out there I need to know how the recoil designs function. I have on old conversion and the carrier pretty much bottoms out when it fully compresses the recoil spring but has not reaches hitting the stock buffer as what it is. I see shortened carriers and recoil rods that collapse partial as they are compressed by the shortened carrier But do they still only stop rear travel by a fully collapsed recoil spring or some other type buffer sooner? I hate to spend hundreds of dollars on other brand systems if all they do is stop on a fully compressed recoil spring and not some type buffer systems. I see PTR carriers and recoil rod systems that collapse out there, but what actual stops the carrier when it travels back on those? The spring at full compression or a buffer system it hits on the stock? |
