Can I see you pics of vertical long gun storage. Trying to lay out a gun room and looking for inspiration. I feel that’s a way more efficient use of space than horizontal. All other pics welcome as well!! Thanks |

Sorry, no pics - away from home. But generally, yes, vertical storage can be denser because if you store them top-to-the-wall, minimum spacing between rifles is set by the narrowest dimension of the rifle - generally side to side vs top to bottom, especially if there's a scope. Hanging horizontally on a wall, unless you put in a lot of shelves the spacing is going to be set by the top to bottom dimension of the rifles. The vertical, scope-to-the-wall approach will take more floor space, maybe 1 to 1-1/2 feet out from the wall, than side-to-the-wall horizontal, if that's a concern to you. I've used mounts from Holdup Displays and been quite happy with the results. |

| The nice thing about vertical is you can easily see and grab everything without moving others out of the way. For temporary storage once I just took a long cardboard tube and notched it for barrels and wedged it in my closet. Just take a look at your local gun stores and see how they are set up. |

Attached File I think the most-dense storage that is still accessible uses a mix of horizontal and vertical. This is Expandable Weapon Racks, which is more dense than Gallowtech and several other competitors but unfortunately more expensive too. |

I made racks out of birch plywood using a table saw and a hole saw. I didn't want to tie up a bunch of money into one of the commercially available systems. Attached File Attached File |
