Good evening everyone, I have a quick question regarding an item I came across as an alternative to common rifle storage methods within a safe. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XKQZKVV?tag=arfcom00-20 What is everyone's thoughts on this? Will the fact that the plastic rod is sitting inside of the barrel result in rust? What if I coat the rod in oil? Thanks everyone. |

If moisture is collecting there you have humidity issues in your safe and rifle rods are not the cause. Plastic is pretty inert! |

Some plastics are hydroscopic (Readily absorbing moisture). I assume they would chose one that is not. I have several of the rods too but have not used them yet but I am going to have to try them soon since several guns are now stuffed into the safe horizontally between the barrels of the vertical ones. |
