Hello fellow goyim, I'm looking for any recommendations on where I can get a Barrel Blank made in 8mm Mauser, then have it reprofiled to a standard Garand Barrel and then a dedicated Garand smith who can install and tune a Garand. I know Lothar-Walther used to make 100% ready Garand barrels in 8mm Mauser, but I could never get one and it looks like they stopped making them anyway. Before anyone asks I have a blown out IH that is perfect for a Kyhber Pass type build for my Garand collection. Thanks guys!

| I did a 7.7 M1 barrel from a blank for a guy earlier this year. But I don’t think that I’d do another one, and that one was simplified somewhat. Between my equipment being older and cantankerous, and the amount of time I had in machining, it’s not practical for me to do unfortunately. |

OP, I don’t know if you’re a reloader, or plan on using a lot of WW2 German stuff. But remember, a lot of, if not most of, German WW2 ammo is loaded for machine guns. So, it will be loaded with heavier bullets, around 196gr, and probably loaded with a slower powder, suitable for slower bullets and longer barrels, than the powers used by the US for the Garand and Browning machine guns. Also, whether, or not, you have other Garands in 30-06. But, a loaded 8mm round may chamber in a 30-06 chamber, especially one that is on the “generous” side. Which the Garand often is. You don’t want to damage a 30-06 Garand by accidentally firing an 8mm round in it. |
