I didn't know about this company making FRTs for UMP or G36 until I stumbled upon a YT video on the UMP version. I was hoping for something like this to be made as I am a G36 enthusiast. The S5 ones aren’t grossly overpriced, and seem half-decent. ASD HK FRT thread in tech I’d lean towards holding off until ASD puts out their G36 model, the one in the OP is an AR trigger in a chassis, I guarantee it won’t last very long, definitely not long enough to justify $700. |

I wouldn't sell any of the C stuff, it's all HK. If anything, just buy the S5 and populate it just for FRT usage. I have the barrel from the donor SL8 and some spares. Wouldn't take much more... 🤔 |

Well I hope I can enjoy it before it turns to dust. Not sure if being AR trigger based is a bad idea, those parts are generally replaceable. But We will see Time will tell. |
| Over on the HKPro forum there is a thread on it and a well known and respected HK gunsmith has been testing them. He's been very impressed with their performance and specifically said it's not just a warmed over AR trigger conversion. He could be blowing smoke but it gives me more comfort in ordering one. |

UPDATE - My Trigger group arrived yesterday! Just looking at it now. It looks well done and with metal components and steel pins. Polymer finish is nice and with some texture, but is fairly smooth and even. I am going to shoot it this weekend - work and family conditions permitting. Will post with results.  If this works, I will probably go for the UMP next - was hoping the ASHK would be out for the 53 clone, but we will see which one gets bought first. |

| I finally received my UMP version and ultimately sold it without using it once shortly thereafter. Off the bat it was missing a key component (stock block and hardware) and while they were kind enough to send those out, I was a bit underwhelmed with what I received vs the cost. If you absolutely must have a FRT in your UMP clone, they seem to be the only option that I’m aware but even that wasn’t enough for me to retain interest. |

Mine are marked for the Tommy Built but just a hair oversized. They have different lengths of trips included |

Update - It worked a little, then stopped working. - as in it would only work as semi-auto and instead of working in an FRT mode would re-catch on the sear again and not let the hammer fall. Took it out to try to figure out why and it would fire on release of the trigger - and slapped a chunk out of the front section of it. Edited to add - Superglue fixed the broken piece pretty well and can hardly see where it was cracked . I hope GDI can figure it out and help get it going- it was very expensive for what it is and sort of fragile.Attached File |

Hope you get your issue sorted out. I'm semi interested in getting one for a UMP but I'll wait until its a little more mature in development.

GDI did get back to me quickly and said they would send another grip frame out I'm going to give them time to see it thrrough - I want them to succeed, we need people willing to develop these things and make theses FRTs a reality for unusual and less common guns. |
