My CMMG Banshee 9mm (suppressed) is great, but I was shocked by how dirty it got and how long it took to clean. I'm also kinda bummed about having a buffer tube and the DI system is what I think it's making it so dirty. I find myself looking for a range toy PCC that is actually quick to break down, clean, and toss back in the safe. Something I can use at my indoor and steel range (9mm). I was thinking Ruger PC, but it looks pretty difficult to field strip. I dove down the MP-5 clone rabbit hole, but I don't think I want one after a few days of research. Although Zenith is local to me. By the time I add mags, brace, or SBR/stock the HK parts get expensive. What about the Sig MPX or Springfield Kuna? Are they any cleaner shooting? I'd rather not spend as much time cleaning as I do shooting at the range. I have a likely impending "assault weapons ban" (Virginia) so I'd rather pick up a new toy before I can't. |
| Are you sure your 9mm Banshee is DI? The radial delayed blowback system is blowback, and there’s no actual gas tube. I have a 9mm Guard (8” pre Banshee) and don’t find that it gets particularly dirty. I think how much backpressure your suppressor has does influence how dirty the action gets, though. |
| I have both CZ Scorpion 2 and Stribog, only cleaned the feeding ramp to get rid of the gunk after a few hundred rounds or so, otherwise they don't get a 'beauty make up' grade cleaning job. These are certainly not guns with tight fitting bolt/carrier so I don't use lube on them, just a wipe down is all they get. Lube is the worse gunk attractor in blow back 9mm. |

Radial Delayed Blowback - A Closer Look I run mine full auto suppressed in SMG matches. I rarely clean it. I just keep adding Mobil 1 0/40 into the action if it gets dry from running suppressed. At high round counts suppressed the extension area does get fouled. I use the Talon tool picture below to scrape out the crud. Again, really high round count like around 10 thousand rounds of suppressed full auto with no cleaning is when I've used the Talon.  |

Just don't over do it. just a little where anything makes contact on the bolt, and just a VERY thin layer on the roller pin to where you cant even tell its there. The greased doesn't attract the carbon build nearly as much so it cleans up much easier. |

Not too much to a PSA AK-V and it is fun as hell. More of a range toy though, kinda heavy for a pcc. It's the first one in this video showing the bolt running with the cover open. | Are you asking for something easy to clean, or something that won’t get dirty? Blowback will get dirty, whether it’s straight blowback, roller or radial delay, hence the name blowback. Putting on a suppressor, especially a conventional one, will just blow more gas back. That said, I haven’t had that much trouble just wiping off the carbon. That’s just the nature of the beast. That said, I don’t particularly like cleaning my roller lock guns like the SP5, mainly because of the shape of the receiver with the indents for the collapsible stock rails. |

It's turned out to be the most maintenance free firearm I own, and I have to say the most reliable semiauto firearm I own. Weird because it's also the cheapest firearm I own by far. |

apc9, and never really need to clean it much... there's rental MG versions out there with 6 figure round counts... doubt they get constantly detail cleaned. Big dumb blowback has no extra complications or tight fitting/finely tuned parts. I think they "under weighted" the spring so the bolt just comes FLYING back with excess energy when clean, so that it'll still run when caked up full of grime (the bolt cycles enough to eject/feed before it even hits the very stiff buffer) when you do get the urge to clean it: pop 2 pins, karate chop the stoclk to remove, push CH pin, tilt gun up and bolt+spring fall out the back. Big block of a bolt is easy to wipe down, so is the inside of the extruded receiver, the breech face is easily accessible, clean barrel like any other gun, done. zero work to do on the hydraulic buffer. |
I was using an old Gemtech Multimount on my APC9k, it got pretty dirty. Switched to a Huxwrx Flow 9kti and it was a night and day difference in how much cleaner it was. Have you considered a low back pressure suppressor? Would be cheaper...but I don't want to dissuade anyone from a new gun.
