I am currently at 30 days on a form 1 individual SBR. Is this normal what time? This is 1st time and just wondering what to expect. |

18 months for any NFA paper wasn't unusual a few years ago. Thanks to the new ATF Director Brian Cekada it's much improved. I only have one left in the system I'm currently waiting on, I have several other projects I want to paper but I'm gonna wait until their system settles. Never in my life did I think I would see ATF actually trying to facilitate this stuff. What they did for VA was awesome! |

Not only are current wait times around 80 days, but the wait has consistently been going up 1-2 days every week. So if you are at 30 days now, by the time another 50 days have gone by the wait time will have increased another 7-10 days, so you are probably looking at a 90 day wait from the date you filed. |

You can go back to the old days when it took most of a year, but that’s ancient history. Last year, it was a couple of weeks. I did one on January 1 of this year and it came back in two days. This is 2026, and the beginning of the year free tax stamp rush is over. There is no good reason for Form 1s to be taking 2 1/2 months and increasing, especially when Form 4s are still taking only a week or two to come back. |

I filed in early May. It's been 60 days now. Another month probably. |

| I'm at 80 days for a F1 SBR. I did an SBS at the beginning of the year and that one took 46 days. According to the head of the ATF, they just recently had more approvals go out than come in. So hopefully the forms peaked. I have a few more that I'll be sending in. In '24 I had an F4 suppressor clear in 18 hours. That was nice. |

Ive filed two sets since I think March for a total of 7 rifles. All were done by last week. First group took 45-60 days, second group took less than 40 I think. Dont have them in front of me to check dates. I kinda want to do a paper form just to get a real stamp. |

I filed 9 forms May 10th. Sunday and Monday everyone came back disapproved. I cannot believe the mistake I made. Same dam thing on every freaking one. Where 5320.23 was supposed to go, I submitted another trust doc instead, in its place. So of course, the forms went to sheet can. Back to square one. Now my project has to go back to back burner till the Fall it looks like since it took 72 days to come back. |

I filed 7 in late June, the 20th I believe. Got 6 back approved on 7/26. I was disapproved for a minor issue (Brownells 10/22 receiver, I didn’t include BRN as part of the serial number.). Refiled that one and an AR15 lower on 7/27, got both back approved on 8/1. Maybe they’re getting caught up or I just got lucky 🍀 YMMV |

I think it took around 10 months. All hard copies and mailed. Just submitted one electronically today. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes |
