I have seen a few posts here that seem to be from fellas in the same boat as me. Three Form 1's done right at the beginning of Zero's second term, expecting the worst. They've been in my safe for over 12 years now. I have done nothing with them. Looks like the parts market has dried up, mostly. Doing some searching with google, lots of companies with websites show up. Most look like Chi-com scam sites and/or FATF honeypots. I've found two that look decent enough. What is the general consensus of ordering these days? Will FATF pay a visit during the next (D) administration and demand parts? Nuke my credit card? Zero out my bank account and cancel me online? I'm only half joking. I assume there is some risk. I want to build on these but I'm not sure how to vet companies and the purchasing process. |

You don't want that mystery Chinese crap. Metals are suspect and designs usually crap. There are a couple companies making parts in the US, you just have to search. What calibers are you doing? The reason parts are no longer readily available is that the ATF went after the manufacturers during the tail end of Trump’s last term, right after he said to the press that he didn’t like silencers and would look into banning them. After the HPA died during a (R) administration with an (R) House and (R) Senate. Truth is, neither party is particularly friendly to silencers. re politics, I agree both parties suck. But one is openly and aggressively hostile to all things 2A and has extensive powerful political operatives throughout the ATF leadership and rank and file... (am I allowed to say that?) while the other is simply choc full of incompetent bird brains who have no clue. They are not the same. re parts, After the DM fiasco it is not easy to find anything out there via web and what does turn up show everything as "out of stock" Appears that some people are still Form-1'ing stuff, but I have no idea where they are getting parts. Maybe they all have invested in mills and lathes? Is SilencerStudent still around? His video here has some good info on mounts...  Rearden Atlas and Atlas XL |
