Ordered the Shiv for my Flux 365. What’s the most reliable setup here? XL slide, 4.35” threaded XL barrel XL slide, 6.5” threaded True Precision barrel Fuse slide, 4.9” threaded Fuse barrel No idea what spring weight I need either. Anyone have this specific setup that can give some feedback? The 4.35” and 4.9” barrels have both oem and True Precision equivalents. Any preference or other manufacturers to consider? |

@ROCK6 excellent write-up, thanks I ended up going with the XL barrel, since I can retain my optic. I may have to pick up a second one of these, I can’t believe how capable they are. On a side note, I’d like to experiment with cutting down the grip on a flux to accept the 12rd XL mags for maximum concealability. Anyone ever try it? |

I was JUST having this conversation yesterday with a buddy of mine who runs a Shiv on his Glock 19… I’m looking at suppressing my P365 Flux Raider which has an XMacro slide and True Precision extended/threaded barrel. I tried to run it suppressed with a OSS/HUXWRX Rad 45 in both short and long configurations, and greased the snot out of the piston. Running 135-grain +P Hornady Critical Duty it wouldn’t fire reliably with the stock spring, which arguably could be rectified with Armory Craft’s recoil tuning kit…which I still need to buy… https://www.armorycraft.com/product-page/sig-sauer-p365-xl-p365-xmacro-and-p365-spectre-recoil-tuning-kit I wanted the lightest can possible, which meant Ti construction and booster-less, which naturally would put the Shiv on your radar… …until I watched this video: ![]() The Gang Goes to SilencerCo * Video synopsis: Flux takes their P365 to SilencerCo and determines that booster-less can designs in the Flux Raider chassis cause accelerated wear on the barrel where it locks up on the slide. That leaves the Shiv out, unless I want to keep a supply of barrels on hand…which I don’t. Flux has a silencer spreadsheet on the website where customers can upload their own experiences; good, bad and ugly. https://fluxdefense.com/support/raider-suppressor-data-entry …and since this is NOT GD, nothing wrong with a few pictures. I JUST got Flux’s new holster which is designed to be used with the SBR stock, run suppressed and works with the forward optics mount, which I was quite literally waiting for… Attached File Attached File Attached File |

That leaves the Shiv out, unless I want to keep a supply of barrels on hand…which I don’t. Love your FLUX setup! Great video, but I didn’t get anything conclusive about the smaller suppressors like the Shiv. I do have the Spectre 9K, ECCO Machine Canine II, and the Shiv. All three run reliably “boosterless” with standard 9mm, but the Spectre is really sluggish with subonsics; I run an Eze-Lok muzzle adapter for all but the Shiv (which is direct thread only). Theoretically, I think the physics are correct on how that kind of weight, less recoil assistance (as a handgun fired from the hands), and more pressure on the barrel lockup surfaces can wear down/peen the locking surfaces. I do think the best mitigation is going to be your recoil spring weight and tuning that to find a good balance between sustaining reliable lockup and ejecting with enough force but not hammering the barrel lock too forcefully. I would almost think with the actions of a booster, you’re getting more mass more forcefully recoiling against the barrel lug to overcome the booster/suppressor mass (of more conventional suppressors). Booster or no booster, the lighters suppressors (with appropriate recoil spring) are going to less abusive on a barrel’s locking lug IMHO. The good news is that you can visually observe any lockup peening or deformation. Understanding a little physics of the browning “dropping barrel lock”, a longer barrel and more barrel mass (ala Shiv or any barrel-mounted compensator), can delay the unlocking action, which is why most suppressors need boosters to help overcome the inertia needed from the extra weight on the barrel. I think with the braced/stocked versions of the Raiders, your recoil spring weight is essential to avoid excessive slamming back into the locking battery as there is no typical hand-rotating recoil action that softens that slide/barrel return into battery when shooing in hands only (no brace/stock). I honestly don’t see much difference (other than some forces directed back into the slide/recoil spring) from the ultralightweight suppressors without a booster and barrel-mounted compensators. Some barrel mounted compensators are even heavier than the Shiv. I just think there are more physics at play with a suppressor which may require some recoil spring tuning. Interestingly enough, the True Precision barrel is cycling fine with the OEM weight recoil spring with supersonic ammo and doing just enough to reliably run subsonics. I ran a good 250 rounds last Friday with the Shiv on my P365 Raider and the only drawback was that I found it starting to loosen up after a couple hundred rounds. I did use the liquid thread sealant stuff from Griffin Armament but it was a little worn (not freshly applied) when I put the Shiv on. After I get it cleaned up and clean the threads up, I’ll reapply a fresh coating and see how that does at the next range trip. Zero issues running 124gr supersonics. It runs with heavier (subsonic) stuff and is now ejecting a good 6-12 inches as I think the stock spring is breaking in finally. I know the Shiv is "low back pressure) but after a full 21-rd mag, the front of my optic was pretty obscured with gas blow back (coupled with the extremely high humidity, it was a bad combo). It kind of turned it into an occluded optic and consistent hits at 100 yards were a little more difficult. I’m happy with the Shiv so that won’t change, but I’ll keep an eye on the barrel locking lug area for any peening. True Precision’s 416R Stainless barrels are reputably hardened higher and stress-relieved better than most OEM barrels. I do run the Canine II using an Eze-Lok hub insert (sans booster assembly) on a P365X with threaded barrel and it runs flawlessly as does the threaded P365XL. ROCK6 |

ROCK6 Thanks @ROCK6, that’s a bold compliment coming from y’all! Likewise I very much appreciate you relating what you’re experiencing first hand… With the Flux (or similar chassis systems) I think that tuning and ammo selection play a large roll in it…which was alluded to in the video but wasn’t expounded on in a more informative/definitive context that I would prefer…but it’s better than nothing and Flux clearly wants their customers happy before and after the sale by doing stuff like this in addition to hosting the spreadsheet on their website. Barrel length likewise plays a roll and it seems that the longer barrels don’t play well with the shorter slides and exacerbate the quasi-physics issue(s) they discuss of the Browning tilt barrel unlocking and the dynamics encountered in a (Flux) chassis system. It definitely gives you something to think about. If you’re obsessed with getting things right and having as close to 100% reliable function as possible…it’s gonna be a process and it’s no more plug and play (or less for that matter) than optimizing an FRT or getting the gas/timing/etc. figured out with a suppressed AR. What y’all have got me thinking is doing a fairly brutal range sessions with my buddies Shiv on my Flux AFTER I get the Armory Craft spring kit issued. The Hornady Critical Duty 135-grain +P I run doesn’t exactly grow on trees (although I don’t AHEM pay for my ammo, at least in this case) but I’d like to track it and see if the bearing/unlocking surfaces experience any accelerated wear after 3-500 rounds in one session, which is near tortuous for the platform, the can…and in my case, the shooter! |

New holster from Flux for P365 UL and Aluminum for forward mounted optic and suppressor... https://fluxdefense.com/shop/pro-holster-raider-365-aluminum-ultralight ![]() Best Holster For Raider 365 |

Update: shot my Shiv with the True Precision 365XL threaded barrel. Only had time for about 100rds of 147gr HST, but it performed flawlessly. However, it does blast a ton of shit right in my face lol. I looked in the mirror after shooting and had a black ring of powder around where my glasses were. I guess the main drawback to a suppressed 365 Raider is how close it sits to your face. |

Yeah, even as a LBP design, I think it's more about the striker fired browning recoil system that simply lets more shit through than the suppressor. After a few mags my optic was more of an "occluded" sight . Philosphy of use is that if deployed, I just need the first few rounds to full mag accurately. After that, I'm just using it to provide suppressive fire for my hasty break-contact movement The Shiv works (form-factor) best with the P365 Raider setup, but I may try putting my Flow 9k Ti on with pistol just to see if it's a little less gassy as a side-by-side comparision ROCK6 |

I actually have a flow 9k coming this week, as it so happens. I saw an ad for this thing on Instagram: https://www.capitolarmory.com/third-echelon-glock-gas-cap.html I wonder if a similar design would help with the P365 raider. |

I have a 9k Ti in my cart right now hovering over the buy button (industry discount and free transfer!) but haven't done it yet. I'm curious if it runs reliably with supersonic ammo, and fits in any version of the holster. my use case for the sig is maybe battle belt if I can holster it, but mostly travel gun. I love the idea of really quiet heavy bullets running but realistically I'd use HST for actual use and the can would be more to just not go immediately deaf. My HD is a Rattler with supers. If I need to fire these things in defense I want as much energy as possible

). Other than that, the Flux Raider was simply a joy to do drills with. I did a 21/21 engagement at the 100-yard steel silhouette and impressed myself.
