I picked up one of the current Century G3 clones straight from PSA. I really like the rifle and how it shoots. Runs like the proverbial raped ape. However like most all of them, it shoots left. 1''-2'' at 50 yds w/the windage maxed out. I think the front sight is canted slightly. I'm wondering if I send it off to a smith if the front sight can be straightened with the current barrel? Does it need a rebarrel? Thanks. |

IIRC it can be done with the existing barrel, but you do need to pull the whole barrel out and rotate it so you can drill a new path for the pin to hold the triple tree in place. Then depending on how bad it was and where the cocking tube sits, it might need some adjustment as well. |

Thanks for all the input. Sounds like there is no way to move the triple tree over a bit? I picked this up to have decent G3 clone and I still want that if possible. I'm into the rifle for under $700 so I view it as a parts kit/projet anyway. I'll reachout to a couple of builders and see what it would cost me to fix. I might pick up a used FMP barrel for it. I could do an AK4 clone or something Portugese/Norwegian if nothing else works out. |

Originally Posted By D_Man: The problem is the cross-pin where the sling loop is. It's just like a pinned gas block on an AR, there is a path drilled into the barrel for that pin to go through. If you pulled out that pin and rotated the triple tree a little bit, that path won't line up any more and you'd have to drill a new one, so you need to rotate the barrel enough to expose a clean side to drill. |
