Was looking at the Ruger American in .223. Because money and I have a lot of .223. Would you go 16 or 22 inch? I have a 16inch AR, so I'm not really sure I need a boltgun, but it seems to be something I've wanted for years. Should I invest in a new platform, or just stick with ARs? I'm really not even sure what it would benefit me other than being in a lefty state (MD). I already have levers for hunting. Thanks for listening to me ramble. |

Ruger's can have mag and feeding issues. I have one now I have to send back. The mags are crap. This one started spitting 2 and 3 rounds out at a time so I got ahold of them and they sent a new mag of a different design. It jams them straight. They said I have to send them the rifle I have a couple dozen bolt actions and by far the best bang for your buck is a Sauer 100 if you can find a deal. I bought one and it's my most accurate factory rifle. Man it shoots circles around all my other factory 700s, X-bolts, Weatherbys and Savages and more consistent than my 2 Rugers. It supposedly shares a lot of parts with a Mauser M18. All that being said I would add a bolt action. They can be great additions |

Especially now that you can get MDT mags/bottom metal. |

I have the 300blk version of this and love it. Uses AR mags so having a 30rd or higher mags at the range gets funny looks from a bolt action https://www.ruger.com/products/americanRifleRanch/specSheets/26965.html |
