I was gonna get one, but since I have a MCR and raptor, I’m going the Lima Sox for the fixed barrel option so I can put the rail I’d rather have on it. In my opinion working currently in the gun industry to many people complaining about prices with Fightlite and so the created an even cheaper way to get into it but still kinda missed the mark. The people I talk to about beltfeds when they see mine, I’ve let em know the pros and cons and point them to the Lima as a potential solid entry level price point beltfed in 556. |
Now fellate me, as I eat this expensive ham.

I would say that I would lean toward the LIMA SIX for fixed barrel, as well. The reason being if I do cook the barrel, I can service it with OTS parts. If I want to change the set-up? OTS parts. For cost, it is looking like it will also be more approachable, and hopefully upgradable over time. That said, the DFX does have some advantages, as well: dual feed, and piston (maybe the LS is also piston?). That and the company is established and supported, which may matter to folks in the immediate who have $4k to jump in. |

That 8 inch setup is killer looking. I’ve got one of the new Freedom Ordnance 8 inch FM-9D 9mm belt fed uppers due in today. I have the complete L6 upper on pre order. I’ll probably get one of the KAK short L6 barrels when they become available. I believe they will have a 12 or 12.5 inch offering. Bad thing, right now the range I shoot FA is temporarily closed. |

It being dual feed is pretty cool. Was hoping to see from users how well it runs. I've used a number of ares/fightlight units. The dual feed is really overrated. Using a mag in it is just shooting a really heavy AR15. I was using one a couple weeks ago that "runs any ammo" and it still kept choking on new links. Worked better if you oiled the whole belt before feeding it in. Probably works better with used links. We ended up shooting a bunch of mags through it really wasn't fun. Id rather shoot a mag through a cheap light AR than a heavy beltfed that isnt beltfed. |

All it takes is a single tight/tighter link and it stops. I'm also not at all interested in spending countless hours stretching links, then have one single link from my M249 get mixed in with with my "Shrike" pre-stretched links, and it shits the bed. Already have a FightLite MCR and an M249S but could see picking one of these up at some point down the road. |

One thing to consider with these DFXs and the new MCRs is that they have changed the geometry of the rear receiver lug and auto sear pocket to where they don’t work with any FRT on the market without modifying or milling the upper (or FRT housing in the case of the Rare Breed). I don’t know why they did this but after a good bit of headache with my new MCR and much discussion and photos shared on Reddit I realized that the DFXs are done like this as well. In short I’d get a Lima 6 if you are looking at a DFX. |

I found a DFX for the same price as the Lima6, and have been trying to figure out the nuances. Having to fuck around with FRT comparability alone makes it an easy choice (L6). |

Haven’t tried the standard RB (L3) with mine, being I have the C3 one on the way… which can fit in the Colt lowers. Figured less chance of an interference. I just got a DFX yesterday. Very happy with it. Does have the charging handle and feed roller assembly from the MCR. I was going to order those to swap in… saved like $500. Ordered a bunch of nut sacks and links, instead. |

The MFR has its own issues with FRTs. The upper is open on the pocket that would retain something like an AZ regulator. Also the examples I have shot were all short in the bolt carrier area that would interact with a trip lever, so even the RB or Partisan in stock form won't work with it. A new carrier or modified FRT would need to be made for it to work. |

Brand new links and on the adverse gas setting. It'd hiccup occasionally but it seemed like it was a buffer issue, it didnt have the included buffer installed |

Well of course not if they are open bolt. But there are open bolt FCGs for M16s in existence. And the designs wouldnt be hard to copy if you couldnt find the parts. |
