I been around here long enough to know the 17 is hard on optics. The tritium in my Trijicon ACOG has blown into a bloom in my reticle. Not real bad, but distracting annoying. I want to use my Night Force NEF 4x22 with Moar T on the 17 and I am wondering if it will hold up ? Anyone here use one on a 17 ? |

Edit -no help but with a good mount and quality optic I thought people were not having issues. If it hurt the acog I don't know what would work. I have a razor with a giessle mount thats fine but haven't shot it a lot the last couple years. My plan was to put a ta11 or t33 on it with an offset rds and getting rid of the razor to save weight. |

No experience with the Nightforce, but the Razor 1-6 has held up on the FDE, and the Kahles K16i has held up on the black one (as did the Razor 4.5x27x before I moved that to something else). The Razor AMG OTOH, did not hold up. I don’t think it went 50rds before I noticed, “Hey, why is the reticle tilted, even when the bubble in the Spuhr mount shows the rifle is level?”. A few shots later, “OK, it’s now canted 45-degrees”. Sent it in for warranty repair and moved it to a different platform (the AMG is noticeably lighter than the Razor Gen2/3. I guess that came at a cost). Similarly, I first tried a Vortex Viper 3-15 when I got the first one (I think I got the FDE first). That one had the erector assembly loosen in under 25 shots. First 5 shot grouping was OK. By the 3rd grouping, “What’s with the vertical stringing?”. By group 4 and 5, “Oh… the elevation knob doesn’t do anything now”. |

SCAR owners argue incessantly on whether the issue is mount or optic related…or both. I’ve used this ADM Mfg. scope mount, made under USSOCOM specifications, specifically for the SCAR: https://www.admmfg.com/delta-mount Running a Vortex 1x10 Razor with that mount and at a relatively lower round count of just over 1K in 3 YEARS; no problems, but considering people trash their optics on round 1 maybe that’s saying something in addition to my anecdotal experience… |
