FC 07 headstamp torture test (Page 2 of 2)
A friend from another department had a 5 gallon bucket full of it and his boss said to get rid of it. Luckily my buddy knows I'm a reloader and wanted to know if I could use it before it went into the dumpster. I'm sure I'll be able to find some use for it! I have my 650 set up, drill press set up (for removing the primer crimp) and I've been tumbling brass whenever I get a chance. However, I have two choke points to this whole deal, I need more powder - I wish I could find some of the W844 locally, and TIME. A little over 10 months until I retire. Hopefully, I'll have some time then to supplement my 223 ammo supply! |

I believe somehow he was connected with Operation Eldest Son. | I bought a 100 pack of the WW federal .223 when I finished my AR & also right before I got into reloading, saved the brass just in case before I started reading up on FC, but anwyays I cut two of those shells apart, one that was once fired and the other that had been fired twice (reloaded once). The web thickness was approx. .190 on the fired once and .185-.190 on the one fired twice. It was headstamped little FC 223 REM. I'm not saying I'm going to buy anymore, or that I know what I'm talking about, but as long as I don't see any bad signs I'll definitely reload those cases a couple times since I already have them ;) |
