I’m going to order Esstac pouches for both pistol (double) and rifle (single) but have a couple of questions. What width of Velcro do I need? Esstac Double Pistol Pouch on Amazon. Esstac Rifle Mag Pouch. This is the brand of Velcro I’ll be ordering. I need to make sure of size. Explain to me how Esstac pouches retention works. Will it work with metal USGI mags fine? Thanks for the help and advice in my last two threads. This is my last thread. I should have listened and went with Esstac pouches to begin with. |
| The kydex inside the pouch has a pinch point in it for retention. You can adjust it with a heat gun. Use the widest one-wrap 1" or the WTF straps. I like the straps and added extra holes in them for different sized belts. If you don't double the one-wrap over a couple times, it can rip with use. Had some give up on a run and gun. |

I have both the standalone and the 1+2 pouch. |

| One wrap is the best way to attach items to a molle belt that has Velcro on the inside that attached to an inner belt. I have never doubled the one wrap and it has never come loose. It’s way tighter than wtf straps or malice clips and way easier to take on and off too. I have ran / rucked miles with it and wear it daily with no issues whatsoever. |

I saw a video where a guy kind of doubled at the bottom and top. I feel like the Velcro if it’s going to hold it will hold. My cost concern and only concern was weight but everyone has said it will be fine so I’m running with it. |

If you're serious, just stick to one gun for anything serious enough that you will want to throw actual gear on. If you absolutely have to carry multiple different handguns at different times, get a Safariland for each one with their quick disconnect system on it. |

I have been summoned from the darkness. Molle is an industry standard that has been bastardized unfortunately. However. 1” should always work. It is the basis for molle. Cheap shit, garbage imports and junk will have other measurements. 1” is the spec requirement. For the rifle and pistol combo. Remember you can swap the kywi insert direction and this will change whether the rifle mag is forward or pistol mags are forward. You can always throw a Magpul 20 into the rifle and it’s almost unnoticeable that it’s there. In relation to your pistol mags. However the benifit of ordering separates is you can just off what you don’t need. If you do the one wrap correctly… para cord isn’t needed in any way. Universal holsters all do one thing really well. They all suck. I’ll make an exception for the Surefire version that attaches to Surefire lights and is MADE BY Surefire. The Blackhawk version that attaches to stream lights… well like most things in life. You get what you pay for. If this is a setup you intend to just go plink in the woods with then it won’t really matter. If you’re going to go do some harder gaming or events or if this is your duty or combat load out… buy Quaity holsters that are designed for the gun you are using. - Esstac’s retarded social media noninfluencer |

I have a Safariland holster that was given to me ten years ago. Maybe longer. It’s missing parts and needs to be repaired. I had a post on here somewhere asking what I needed but lost it. I need to post again. I was trying to do things in a really tight budget right now. I’m taking care of my dad who has entered the last stages of dementia (wish I could take the disease out back and shoot it. But can’t. It’s pure Hell. His is Dementia with Lewy bodies. It’s like he’s trapped in a nightmare 24/7). My cash flow is a bit tight with all the things we are doing to keep him out of a nursing home. I ordered my pouches from Amazon and I’m guessing it’s Esstacs storefront. I see there are a lot more products I’ll be picking up at a later date. The more I look at one wrap and the usage the more I feel comfortable with it. I have used it to rig up things to help with my dad and it holds extremely well. All my stuff will be here Monday and I’ll get to work on setting my belt up and see how and where I want things. It’s also awesome knowing that you guys are on ARfcom. I like to see that with companies. |

I just got my pistol mag pouch in and they are nice. I tried my M&P mags in them and the retention is good. Really good. No worries of them falling out. The stitching looks good. It does have the new style attachment on the back. I took some pics of them. The front of the package says 2011 Double Pouch. Was that when a design changed? When I ordered these I made sure it was for a double stack 9mm or 40cal. Let me know what you guys think. This is my first Esstac product so I have no clue about packaging or anything with the pouches. My rifle mag pouches will be here tomorrow as well as some parts for my holster. |

I got my belt started today. Waiting for my cobra buckle to show up this week and it will be done. I hope to have time tomorrow to mount the pouches. I got my Safariland holster that was given to me as a shell from a friend fixed up and on the belt. It’s going to take me a while to get used to drawing from it. It’s a bit stiff and not as smooth but I’m told over time it will work in. I’m excited to get this belt done and start dry firing and getting used to this setup. I decided to get some Pmags and Lancer mags to go with my GI mags. My Pmags come out of the rifle pouches a bit easier. I wish Virginia was heading into this ban era that we are but I’m set on guns, mags and I think everything they want to control. Over the next couple of months I’ll buy some mags and put them back. I will also for sure go to Esstac direct to buy pouches next time. I want to setup a different belt using the USMC padded belt. But I’ll figure that one out in time. The quality material used it’s very noticeable on these pouches. I had started trying to make gear years ago and had an old Singer sewing machine and when I say old it was old. Way older than me and I’m 52. I have a guy locally that said he could teach me to sew and I may take him up on that offer. He runs an upholstery shop and at one time during GWOT he was making a lot of gear for the military. I think he said he had an old chicken house converted into a factory and mennonites helping him sew this equipment. He’s well known by the police departments in the area. He modifies their gear. I have a chest rig idea that can go from a minimalist to a fighting load out. One more thing on the holster. I will be changing it in the future. Maybe sooner than later. But for now I’ll train with what I got and see what happens. |

I started my sewing business learning to sew on a $15 thrift store 1960's metal internal Singer domestic. You'll be surprised what they can do. (To be clear, if you get serious about sewing gear, you'll want to upgrade to some kind of industrial machine, but for a hobby or occasional problem, those old domestics are great to learn on) I really like getting people to learn to sew. It's a good hobby and skill to have in general, plus if this country ever gets it's act together and industrializes again, we will need people to know how to sew again. There's a number of sewing threads on this sub forum if you ever get serious about it. |
