Setting up an appointment to get a lower engraved and was thinking of taking another lower with that I'm thinking of turning into an SBR. Anybody engrave a lower that hasn't even had a Form 1 filed yet? I was just going to have the engraving match the one that's already filed and I know what the gun is going to end up being whenever I do get around to assembling it. Before anyone asks, the closest engraver to me is an hour away so I'm trying to save some money and time making multiple trips. I know there's a chance the requirement will go away but who knows when/if that'll actually happen. |

You do you. Now, you do realize that there is a proposed rule to eliminate the additional engraving requirement? It has passed the public comment period, and will very likely be published soon. Also, if you are a covered party in the big court case, you may be exempt from filing a form 1 as well as the additional engraving requirement. But if you want to file, get a $0 stamp, and engrave it that is your choice. I understand, since perhaps you have a valid reason(s) (go to a public range, wish to travel out of state with it, etc) |
