Went to the range to get some more data for my Gladius, but like a moron I forgot the magazine and since loading the rounds without the mag was a pain, I switched to plan B which was my EMC. SR25 EMC sporting an ACOG TA11 with the M240 reticle, shot off a bipod using Hornady Black ammo and a Griffin gate latch SR25 compatible suppressor. Holy hell was this fun. Range has metal targets at 300, 500, 650 and 750 yards. This combo was like shooting in easy mode. Line up the reticle with the appropriate range on the BDC, squeeze and a couple seconds later "clang". Literally every shot was a first round hit, jumping back and forth from near to far was super fast and effective. I think this is probably my "if I could only have one" rifle. I also brought my LPR which is boringly easy at the 3 and 5 hundred, but without a spotter I couldn't figure out where I was hitting at the further ranges, so I need to find someone local that can spot trace in a spotting scope because my old lady can't see it. It's hard to beat a good range day. |

I am fortunate that we have a local 2gun match that has been going on every month since 2003 as well as a few Gas Gun Precision matches per year so I get to have fun shooting both disciplines. I do much prefer LR shooting if I had to choose. |
