| No, but please post pics when you do. DuraCoat is by far my favorite coating. Especially DuraHeat 2.0. Very tough and even someone with zero artistic ability like myself can get perfect coverage. They’re also super helpful to match colors if you send in a sample. They did it for me. |

I have been using Duracoat for well over a decade with 100% satisfaction, until now. Below is the advertised look of blue/green/purple. I was told to use a matte black undercoat, which I did, and 4 or more coats to get the desired effect. I did 6 coats when I ran out of mix, but the look did not improve any after 3 coats. Sorry Duracoat, it looks nothing like your advertised picture. Total FAIL! Attached File Attached File And this was with lightning done to give the best achievable look. I will continue to use Duracoat but not any more special effect coatings. One thing for sure, damned glad I experimented on a “cheap” magazine. |

| Thanks for showing it. A few years ago I saw a purple and black fade painted rifle with some grid pattern on it. Kind of looked like an eighties arcade. I think it had that chameleon coating on it. Way past my skill level. With an airbrush I bet I could sneak up on it since it takes so much. |

I used an airbrush and hobby compressor but I don’t know which tip. I used the same tip I always use with Duracoat and had excellent spray and coverage. I put down a matte black base coat as directed, let dry for an hour or so then mixed the ChameleonCoat. Spraying was easy with no problems at all. In bright sunlight, all you see is a blue/black metal flake with the slightest hint of green, maybe. Attached File I have contacted DuraCoat so let’s see what they have to say. |

| Wow! Talk about quick customer service. I contacted DuraCoat this afternoon and they have already gotten back with me requesting pictures to try and diagnose what went wrong. I’ll update with the response and any corrections offered. |

Duracoat got back to me about the issue. Besides requesting details about how the finish was applied, they sent me a picture showing how ChameleonCoat should turn out. As you can see, it's not really any different from what I got, only nothing like the picture they have on their web site. So....I requested they update the picture to show what it will really look like. It's not that what I got looks bad, just nothing like what I expected, so Que Sera Sera. Next time I want to do an exotic finish I'll get a paint chip sample first. Problem solved! Attached File |

DuraCoat sent me a message regarding the difference between the pictures of ChameleonCoat on their web site and what it actually looks like. The following is the reply they sent me with certain parts redacted. We certainly share your frustration regarding the pictures on the website. We are currently working on a solution to address this issue (and a few others simultaneously) that we hope to release soon. We inherited many of these issues from the previous owners and fixing them properly has been a challenge. However, we are making progress each day. Had it worked as pictured on the website, it would be pretty consistent with the "mystic" paint that Ford used on the Cobra. | Never used Duracoats Chameleon, but did get a chance to use color changing paint when I painted at a conversion company on a set of running boards for a walk in customer. Could not go back and forth laying it down. Had to be laid down in one direction so the color changing flakes "line up" per the instructions I got. One running board didnt match the paint on one side of the truck so had to reshoot it theother way. I dunno if Duracoat has to be done that way. If you have more, maybe try laying it down in one direction. Just an idea. |

Looks like Cerakote FX Mardi Gras kinda Cool. I left duracoat when I ordered Pink for my daughters A.R. and it came out Barney purple but with a pink hue. Couldn’t trust the colors any longer. After spending the kids college fund with Thor I finally began to teach myself how to Cerakote properly 🤣 |
