I saw one mounted with low rings on a DSA railed dust cover and it piqued my interest. Armson Usa has what I want but it's currently OOS. Pros, Cons? |

| An OEG does nothing a red dot doesn't do better, unless you're looking for a retro sight on a retro rifle--in which case it has the Cool Factor going for it. The downside to an OEG is that it puts the dot on the opposite eye from what you're using to see, so the point of impact will be offset by the same amount as the distance between your two eyes. |

Yep, back in the 80s i was rocking a HK-91 with an OEG on top. I loved that setup, my dad on the other hand did not. He couldn’t figure out that you had to keep both eyes open to use it. These days I want magnification! |
| I usually use my red dots with the front lens cover on, the dot intensity as low as I can see, and both eyes open. Considering that, I hated the Armson. It's retro as hell, but rather large and the sight picture really messed with my brain, making it hard to acquire the dot consistently. |

Unless you are going for the retro look. I have my OEG on my XM177. I was going to mount it on my DSA pic rail cover just for the hell of it and post it here. It only thing i could say it would be a con is the ring height. Too low, it will get in the way of the irons and if too high may have a check weld problem. Forgot about this one Edit: I forgot about this setup from The Wild Geese. |
