Thinking of getting some .444 Marlin brass and wondering if they usually have a black Friday or Labor Day sale i should wait for. |

I buy my Starline brass directly from Starline. It is cheaper then buying it from a retail source. And Starline ships for free. Thanks for starting a thread to ask your question. |

I have never had a problem with handgun brass from starline. My rifle experience is limited to 308 Win. It is lighter than most brands. Worked ok, but not the best case life. |

It is no better than everyone elses brass. Split cases, Primer pocket depth all over the place. Pocket diameter all over the place. Pockets that don't have a bevel to make primers go in a little easier, almost like a crimped pocket. I have it in 45acp. 357mag is all over the place for everything that cold be wrong. 44mag the pockets are all over the place also. 223 split in the body, was replaced but not covering the 200rds loaded that had to come apart. 380 has been good. 350 Legend is a little thin compared to other brass. this 223 brass was first firing. Brand new WOA SPR barrel and matched bolt. It was replaced but lost a bunch of components because of it.

The downside sometimes is the batch size direct iirc are bigger when you buy direct and Midway batches are half the size. So it depends how much brass you want as to whether it makes sense to buy one place or the other. I buy .38-55, .38 special, .357, .32 S&W Long, .32 H&R and .44-40 Starline brass. I don’t recall a single defect that was objectionable. |

Starline to me is the best of the “regular” brass. It is not much better than Remington, Winchester, Hornady, IME. Lapua, Peterson and ADG are better, but only for when I’m getting nitpicky. That really only applies to precision ammo like PRS type or long range hunting. They only run price discounts on higher volumes as far as I know. I’ve bought 1000 45-70 to get the price and sold off like 800 of them! |
