I have recently bought an MKE AP5. It’s run perfectly with both 115 and 124 grain ammo. However, after research I decided to upgrade extractor and spring and swap in a 100 degree locking piece. I was told that Rim Country was the best source to upgrade those parts. After perusing their website I saw that they have an “E” enhanced bolt head for $265. I’m leaning towards getting the Enhanced Bolt Head rather than just the small parts. Anyone with experience with the RCM stuff? The gun will eventually be suppressed and FTR’d. |

I’ve also had good luck with RCM parts. Honestly, if your gun shoots the ammo that you like and doesn’t have any malfunctions, there is no reason to change anything. Get some good quality mags and test them thoroughly. If there are issues after you install a FRT then I would think about an ejector and extractor from H&K. There’s a good chance that your gun will run perfectly as is. FYI, with a full size MP5 there is no reason to change your locking piece. If you do, check your bolt gap. You may have to buy new rollers. H&K changed the locking piece in the K sized guns to prevent roller marks caused by high rate of fire. |

He’s got a full size AP5. They have never had the roller damage problem to my knowledge. That problem showed up after the K model was developed. |
