How long are you guys seeing it takes to overturn a denial? Had an accused DV 2 years ago, got dismissed 8 days ago. Checked the state police site and shows nothing, not even an arrest. I'm sure I'll get denied but just checking to see how the process works. |

How to File a Firearm-Related Challenge To challenge your firearm denial, visit https://www.edo.cjis.gov. To submit a challenge through the mail, send a request to: FBI CJIS Division NICS Section CJIS Main, C1 1000 Custer Hollow Road Clarksburg, WV 26306 When submitting a challenge via mail, include your NICS Transaction Number (NTN) or State Transaction Number (STN). Failure to include these numbers will delay processing. |

Only counting “initial” denials, my (few) customers have averaged 10-12 months from denial to adjudication. Usually the lawyers tell the customer to wait 15-30 days so the systems can be updated. If you are at 8 days, that might not be enough time for slow government workers to remove disqualifying tags. One of those still gets “delayed” every time… |
