The bipods were really meant for firing bursts from trenches and fighting positions, as I understand it, where that wouldn't be as big of a deal. It'd be cool if someone could design a safe forced reset or binary trigger for the FAL. IIRC, FN was developing a trigger design at the very end that is closer in design to the AR's trigger that might be a good starting point, conceptually. The bipods would make more sense on a semi-auto FAL with such a trigger group. |
