| I missed out on a first class buck last year because of the stupid cross bolt safety on my 94ae. All my other Winchesters are old enough to not have the safety and consequently, I forgot this one did. I jumped a huge buck in the brush, pulled up to fire and the gun went "click". I jacked another round in thinking defective ammo and again "click". By now the buck was long gone and only then did I realize that the damn cross bolt safety I had forgotten about was engaged. When I returned home that night, I removed it. |

When I returned home that night, I removed it. I think I removed the CB safe on my 94ae and just plugged it with black plastic plugs from Amazon/Ebay. They fit tight and you really couldn't tell they were cheap plastic. It actually looked pretty clean. |

I am left handed so, safeties, in general, are often difficult for me to operate unless they can be reversed. I got the Ranger Point Precision delete for my 45 Colt. Attached File |
