| Anyone in the LE world change the guns from auto to semi? We're getting some surplus guns but our policy doesn't allow full auto, so we're figuring out ways to convert them. Supopsedly you can swap out the auto sear for a block but I know nothing about the platform. We're just startin to spin up on it |

If you're really cheap just grind of the tab on the selector that disengages the disconnector. Or grind the tail of the selectfire disconnector. Selector will be safe-semi-semi. Or remove auto sear and replace selector with an AR safety. Removing the sear alone could cause hammer follow issues if the selector was placed in auto position. Or replace disconnector with an AR15 disconnector. Even with auto sear and 3 pos selector rifles with only fire semi automatic. |

Armory staff recommended making them semi. Sheriff wanted FA. LOL The conversion to semi is easy, cheap and reversible. |

FN only makes those auto lowers in Belgium and FN USA does not keep any spares here, so I'd bet they would trade you semi auto versions in a hot second. The semi versions are the exact same lower they just don't have the A stamped and of course the auto parts. Let me know if you need a contact at FN USA. |

(In any case, it's not criminal since the firearm is already a MG lawfully, even when mechanically limited to semi-auto.) I don't know what any of those acronyms mean. It's just a straight transfer from one fed entity to another. We shoot at their range which is why they approached us about taking them. Either someone takes them or they shred them. If we do take them, I'll be swapping out the safeties at a minimum. It's not that we WANT them, its that they're free. Personally I hope we don't take them, we're too small of an agency to be having multiple rifle types in the field. We should just stick to ARs |
