With the 0$ tax day approaching I had planned to make a list of all of the possible combinations of silencers I would ever want and then submitting a Form 1 to have on hand for whenever I might get around to make it. (My 9 month old made that free time disappear, so here we are). My list would include the most commonly sized form 1 silencers, such as B cell, D cell, etc. with some appropriate info on caliber, dimensions, thread specs, etc. More importantly I wanted to list integral or historical examples where silencers were integrated or used historically. Such as the Delisle carbine, Welrod, MP5-SD, other type of clandestine type firearms. As I would like to produce my own copy of these in the future. I hope this would help others and act as a repository for information, please add what you think is valuable and if this goes somewhere I will update the post. For a Form 1 all you specify is caliber & length. If you make all your submittals .22 you can bore the can to anything over that. It is however nice to mark the cartridge limits a home brew is intended for but you can engrave additional info later (like “rated up to cal. XXX”). So you could cover a range with .22 submittals from 5” to 16” in inch increments. After building any refinements you can submit a description update letter. |
