I am looking at several models of Chiappa 1892 takedown rifles that are listed as having a matte black finish. It looks to my eye to be some kind of cerokote spray applied finish. The importer hasn’t answered my inquiry so out of curiosity does anyone know what it is? I am debating waiting to see if the hard chrome finish will return to stock. I am interested in wear resistance but I won’t be storing the firearm in a vehicle for extended periods as I have had that produce rust even on stainless guns in short order. |
