So, been looking into getting a new can for a lightweight AR-10, and I was recently directed to the CAT JL for a can with better suppression than my Nomad while having a bit less backpressure. Not as low backpressure as an ODB or something like a Hux can, but I have no issue with tuning a gun if I can benefit suppression. I'm going lightweight, and the JL in Ti is likely the heaviest I want to go for this project as it'll only be slighty lighter than my Nomad when setup the same. |

I believe the newest Nomad is their OTB model, though they all still seem to be typical machined ones rather than 3D printed so I would definitely wonder how they compare. I do know that the standard Nomad L seems to be extremely gassy while the JL is gassy for a CAT can, but it's not nearly as bad as a lot of cans. |

| The JL is right up there with the quietest 30 cal 3D printed designs. It adds more gas than an ODB, but not much, and it’s still a LBP design. With mild tuning it will be great. I use mine on small-frames where it’s still well at home, on a large-frame it’ll be great. |

How about the Sig Hexium 300? It’s marketed as a low back pressure can but I haven’t tried it on a semi auto yet. I have a handful of 30 cal cans and it’s the quietest so far on 300BO manual action hosts shooting subs. Shot it again last weekend with 300BO and 30-30 subs on lever rifles and it was quieter than the Tallboy, Hyperion, Full Nelson and JL.

Seems to be more of a 300 blackout can than a .308 can. Would need to hear more about how it does on a .308 platform before consideration. I will also say, I'm not sure if I want to give Sig my money. The entire 320 shenanigans and the few recent Sig firearms I've been around in use haven't given me the warm and fuzzies. |

The 300 is definitely geared more towards BLK while the JL is more geared towards large-frame supers, though obviously either will suppress either fine. |

Yeah, I have no plans for a 300 Blackout setup, just .308. |

The CAT JL is one of the quietest .30 suppressors you can buy, but so is the SIG Hexium 300. Both will handle .308 just fine but the SIG Hexium 300 is rated for up to 300 Win Mag and has no barrel length restrictions, while the CAT JL is limited to 16"+ on .308 What type of shooting do you plan to do? |

Don't let the 300BLK nature of the Hexium deter you as it does fantastic on many other cartridges, and is lower backpressure than the CAT JL. The SIG is also about $250 cheaper. I would personally be happy with either of them, but for my money it is the SIG. |
