Over the years I feel like I’ve been changing out my optics way too much. A year or two ago I decided to get rid of all my optics, Eotec 512, Vortex UH-1, Meprolight M21, Meprolight RDS ProV2, Holosun HS515GM and Holosun AEMS. I decided to go back to a tube style optic only. And with that I chose the Sig Romeo 4T Pro and 4XT Pro. I kind of regret not giving the Meprolight Tru-Vision a chance. The only reason I didn’t was due to the battery life. I feel like the bigger window on a bullpup rifle might be better or more comfortable than a tube optic. Someone from ARfcom recommended the Tru-Vision and I’m not sure who it was now, but I’m going to get one for my x95. If I like it I’ll get one for my Aug. What are you guys running? Anyone running the Tru-Vision? I’m thinking of going with the standard model and not the multi reticle SR model. |

Aug - old 1x3 Leupold. X95 - just ordered a SLX 3x to replace the 1x which will go on the Kuna. Tavor 7 - or sure yet. All my short guns run the PA prism scopes due to astigmatism. Left eye is fine for red dots. Right eye is not. I shoot righty. |

Interesting to see everyone’s choices. I have a GLx 1 with green reticle coming that I took in on a trade. I may sell it to fund a the lurch of a red dot. I have a GLx 1x with a red reticle on my A2 rifle and really like that optic. Form factor is awesome. I’m not sure if I would like the GLx 1x on my Aug or x95 more so than a red dot with a bigger window. My ARs to me feel perfect with a tube style optic like the Romeo 4T Pro. I feel like the bullpup rifles and big window optics are made for each other. |

I feel like the LPVO is an underrated optic for bullpup rifles especially the Aug. I feel like the Aug is meant for the LPVO. I went ahead and picked up an Meprolight Tru Vision to see how I like it. Got an extremely good deal on it. It’s the single 2 MOA dot version. |

I have a 1-6x because it pairs well with the gun’s effective range and plays real nice with a small 1x thermal clip on. I also have an RMR up on top the LPVO because it’s a good height for passive NVG aiming. The idea for me is basically ultimate flexibility. It comes at a cost of chonkiness/weight, but being a bullpup it wears the weight well. Jack of all trades; master of none. Aug #1 has an Aimpoint PRO (might be an ACO actually- basically the same thing). Good setup, and aimpoints are as bulletproof as a red dot can get. Aug #2 has a Vortex Crossfire. Not too impressed with it as the adjustments are not as fine, but it was cheap enough and this rifle is a spare for rifle #1 basically. |

I'm essentially getting out of the hobby, but my AUG is the last gun I would part with. I intend to hand it down (albeit, well loved and used at that point). After 43 years of assembling / using AR15s and 42 years of owning them along with virtually every preban and "newfangled" design ... I can't shake my love for the AUG. Bought my first one in 1990 and have owned many since. The AUG I have now is one of three "military style" rifles I'm keeping. The other two are a LMT MARS-L and LMT MARS-H. Don't need or want more. |

My idf pattern tavor SAR has a meprolight m21. It’s a very meh Optic ID never buy another or recommend it unless cloning. Does it work yeah but you have lots of blue tint, a big reticle, and it washes out in adverse lighting due to being fiber optic / and or tritium. Tritium is probably nearing end of its life too given it’s from the first year of production of US tavors. Changing a battery is superior to shipping an optic back to its manufacturer for fresh tritium. My x95 has an sig Romeo 8t on it with a PA magnifier. I like it and have used it out to 500 yards no problem. It used to have my vcog on it which is also nice but made the x95 top heavy. My tavor 7 has the vcog that used to be on the x95. I haven’t even zeroed it on their yet or done anything besides test firing in the back yard. Small kids full time job and masters degree program currently :(. However it feels more at home on the t7 and I don’t think it makes it feel as top heavy as the x95 felt. |
| I have a Vortex Spitfire 5x that I’m giving a try. It’s sat in the box in my closet for a few years now as the tight eyebox and short eye relief made it less than ideal on an AR. Those issues are mitigated on the Hellion though so I think it will work well but I haven’t been to the range yet. I’ll probably throw an EPS carry on top. |

I remember walking thru gun shows in the 80s and seeing them sitting on tables - brand new - and being so intrigued. Bought my first one in 1990 (IIRC) shortly after the ban. I kept that first one until 2000. There are very few guns I regret selling, but that is one of them. The current guns are great, but they lack the panache of an original. Pretty sure I’ve had a 900, 901 and 905 over the years but I’d have to dig up my records to confirm. |

With a full mag of 7.62x51, the Tavor is extremely tail-heavy to begin with so adding some weight towards the front just helps IMO. Bear in mind that I’m not running and gunning. The furthest I intend to carry a rifle is from my truck to the firing line or the tree stand. I have an ACOG sitting on my GWOT homage 20” AR….after using the Razor—or any scope with a wide field of view, the ACOG is like looking through a drinking straw. I appreciate the ACOG for what it is, but I doubt I’ll ever buy another. |

Wild considering a TA31's field of view is larger than a 1-6 (or 1-10) Razor's if you're comparing both at 4x magnification. If you aren't comparing like magnifications, that's not how comparisons work.

If you can work out the eye relief and LOP issue, the TA31 is pretty comfy to get behind. 8mm exit pupil, wide field of view, and a massive sight picture that's the equivalent of having a 4k desktop monitor, it feels like so much more than 4X. The Razor 1-6 is the LPVO equivalent. Its only issues are the weight and reticle selection, otherwise, you really can't beat it in its optic class. The AUG is a pig, with all its weight in the center, so I understand why folks avoid putting an LPVO on it. I will say that the 3x24 TA50 is growing on me, with the ADM cantilevered mount, it's incredibly sweet; it's not quite as good as the TA31, but has none of its annoyances in getting it mounted exactly where you want it, or smacking your glasses under recoil. I really haven't found anything better suited to a PDW-sized AR of the sub-10" barrel category. |

Steyr will put it in for fifty bucks labor. You do need to acquire the tube yourself. Also claw gear AUG scope cover gives you a pick rail and scope cap flip up covers as well as protection for the scope body. |
