I don't think Corbin was ever a "one man operation," The page with Dave's bio was last modified in November, 2020, which doesn't say anything about whether Dave is still with us. But the main page was updated on June 18, 2022, and you'd think they'd make note of their founder's passing on the home page... I'm thinking that "Dave is gone" is a rumor, not necessarily true. |

Instructions said sort headstamps for best result, so I did. 2. Haven't loaded or shot them yet. After making 55 gr bullets. I decided I wanted to make 62 gr bullets instead. 62 grs is as heavy as you can go with 22 LR cases made into jackets. I like 62 gr FMJ's better than 55 gr FMJ's, so that was my choice. Unfortunately other projects have occupied my reloading time and I haven't gotten back to swaging since last March. |

There are .22 Winchester Rimfire, and .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire...but their outside diameters are both 0.242" versus 0.227" for the .22LR. I wonder if that would make a difference to the jacket forming dies. Just a thought; if you wanted to make heavier/longer bullets from rimfire brass, you'd need to start with longer brass. If it didn't mean buying different forming dies, that might be a thing. |

Also at times you can buy 22LR fired cases, which I have done. You need a lot of 22 LR cases to form jackets with. Finding enough 22 mag cases would become an issue. I have read where 22 mag cases were used to form 6mm bullets. But again, case availability... |

It was probably a good idea to make the hot rod rimfire cartridges too big to fit in potentially ancient .22LR chambers. But still…. Ah well. |
