What is the process of building an F1 can now? Do I have to have the F1 approved before I buy any of the hardware (like the tube and cups)? I have seen posts online about ATF visiting people that have bought the materials, don't know if the stories are true or not. |

The market is flooded and unless you're doing something funky there's not a lot of good reasons to build F1 cans anymore, especially given the headaches the ATF has been giving out over it... You should not buy ANYTHING resembling a part until you have a stamp in hand. |

I am one of the poors and like to build stuff, also a journeyman machinist so I can build a can "just as guud"  |

You can make one for a mere fraction of the price of solvent trap parts. Most solvent trap sellers have the basic dimensions listed as well as photos. Scale them and start making chips. |

My last F1 can was years ago using Ti tubing and Ti VSRs. The blank Ti tubing i bought to make the spacers was from a shop that later got raided by the ATF. I got the nasty "you may be a felon, turn over your contraband" letter in the mail after that. Called the local ATF office, told them i had my F1, they said don't worry about it. |
