How to go about adding a light mount. The handguard retainer piece makes the magazine tube huge. Can't find a pintail sling plate anywhere. Maybe there is something that does both? Would a GG&G 1301 flashlight mount work on a 1200/1201 beneath the endcap?  Is it possible to mod these to accept a choke tube? |

(If I fuck it up) Could just go that route. I ordered the Choate pistol grip stock, Hope that helps with recoil that I've been hearing is atrocious. |

It’s recoil operated, so yeah, it’s gonna kick like a mule. The 1200FP is 2-3/4” only so it’s not as bad as the 1201FP shooting 3” shells. I had a 1200FP for several years. If you’re willing to use separate mounts … what I did was put a Beretta sling mount that mounted at the front of the tube behind the screw (don’t know the correct name offhand). It was shaped like a ring with a slot for the sling to slide through. It was sold as a part for a different Beretta shotgun but it worked on the 1200FP too. I can’t find the part at the moment, maybe someone else makes something similar. |

Got the GG&G M2 Benelli mount today and it does work. So does the M2 charging handle. ETA: hmm. Noticed that the gap the M2 sling mount causes with it's thickness requires a lot of force on the end cap and very very slight barrel play. Maybe use larger washers on the inside of the magtube cover to take up slack were it mates with the mag tube at the end. That would be the cheapest way to do it. Or I could just use a wide flat washer and put the sling loop under the end cap itself instead of behind the mag tube cover. I took the spring out of the mag cap and just screwed it back in it's normal factory config and the barrel moves back and forth. It's only actually held tight by that spring. Either a longer spring or making up the difference with a washer underneath it. I guess thats part of the Inertia system? I do not fully understand how it works. The guy in the prior posting that used one didn't mention any modification to his past just sliding it on. |
