I'm looking for a MA compliant shotgun to utilize my MA non res license. Essentially I need a traditional stock and 5 shell tube. I love the look of the Fixed Raider Base and Elite but it seems I can buy a Panzer Speed Pro in a cool coating and add a walnut furniture set and spend way less and get almost all the perks. The Raider S4 Elite and the Speed Pro both have lightened bolt, enlarged bolt release, mlok rail, ported barrel. Raider S4 does have the on/off front LED and the Elite has all the different colors, carbon fiber. Add lifetime warranty. Speed Pro has ambi charging handle and QD attachment on the receiver. Does it make any sense to spring for the Orthos ar $1399 or $1799 vs $725 for the Speed Pro/Walnut stock? |

I think at that point the only things missing that the orthos has is the flat faced trigger, led sight,"QC" and a lifetime warranty? Bear creek has a killer deal on their clone right now but I can't pull the trigger on it now. Wish there were reviews on this offering. |

I found an old 870 Marine Coat Heat Shield. Minimal fitting was needed. Just needed to snip a few pieces of metal shorter. Attached File |

Picked up a panzer speed pro the distributor sent the walnut stocked version. HAD ordered the 5 position tube and adjustable stock set. ANY Tips for getting the wood stock off without damaging it? Or is it going bench vise and a ton of effort? Also have another question, the left side cut out, does it mess with shot cards or shell holders? |

There will be two tiny itty bitty holes that you have to push a small Phillips head screwdriver through on the butt pad. They almost look like syringe holes in the rubber. Once you have the butt pad removed use a socket to remove the bolt underneath where the buttstock pad was and the stock comes right off. If you are changing out the buffer tube. There is a nut at the base of the buffer tube at the receiver. Remove it. Then use a heat gun to heat up the buffer tube down at the receiver end to soften the factory lock tight. There should be some Flats on the buffer tube you can put a crescent wrench on to remove the buffer tube while the Loctite is heated and softened up. |

Oh ya. Broke down and hit the local fun store and bummed thier bench vise to bust the nut loose. Took me leaning almost full weight on the wrench to break it free. Had to band strap the tube and reciever after the scorch. The tube notches were off on the 5 position compared to the factory. So that was fun lining it up, not a straight pull but a twist and pull. Almost made me go back to the wood. Now it's time just take it up and shoot before I sink more money into it. |

Honestly I have a variation of that stock made by Panzer. Not a huge fan. Recoil Pad can be removed via unscrewing the sling swivel. Kinda neat if you want to use the stock for storage. But it's a bit longer LOP than the wood stock I have. Recoil pad on it is just okay... I found myself using a limb saver which made the LOP even longer lol. I would just spend more for the Benelli. I picked up the Panzer one on eBay for $50 so not a huge loss. |

Orthos has those 14" ported and non ported barrels that are listed as Black River Manufacturing but have to be Turkish made for that price. I've only been able to find a couple of reviews online, maybe six or so, and they're mixed at best. Has anyone here bought one or even seen one? For $225 or so I'd SBS mine, but I don't want to waste the money if they're complete junk. They also show a metal extended bolt release that I've never seen, anyone tried one of those? |

Hmm, this is basically what I found when looking for reviews, one would say it worked, the next that it wouldn't fit. And I have a MAC too. Picking mine up today. Excited  Attached File I kicked the tires a lot for this one. But for $250? Can't beat it. Plus has most of the stuff that I wanted. Ghost ring sites, pic rail., pistol grip. My wrist can't handle traditional grips anymore, I mean it can but it's not great. This points so much more naturally for me. Is it perfect? Nah. But should fill a missing hole in the collection. |

I think many of us are hesitant to get one of these barrels as there is a lot of bad feedback on them. It's nice to hear somebody has one and it runs well. Well I'm an idiot. I just ordered the Black River barrel on lil_Sig's reccomendation. I figured I'd give it a chance since they say they have free returns- I just noticed the OD green barrel, the only one they had listed as "in stock" (the only way I'm ordering anything from Optics Planet) and it's the ported barrel, I don't want a ported barrel. Argh.  Just cancelled, we'll see how that goes. I'll wait for a non ported version, God only knows how long that'll take now with the recent changes. |
I've always wanted a semiauto and PSA enticed me with a daily deal on the MAC, so it's time to get into the Turkish trash blaster game.  I'm thinking a shorty with a collapsing stock should be a fun little range toy. Black River barrel ordered, but now I'm stuck on which stock to go with. |

SDS had a Labor Day sale, 20% off, so I ordered one of their collapsing stocks. It's a heavy, bulky thing, not sure I like it; I might try shortening my factory stock*, buying a Mesa or maybe a standard, non pistol grip stock. *I've kinda got monkey arms and the factory pistol grip stock is still way too long. I need to figure out how to shorten it. |

I just bought a MAC 1014, because PSA has them on sale. Reviews are mostly positive. I have one turk gun now, a pistol, and it's actually been great. My only use for it is 3-gun practice (I've never done a competition, but practice is fun), and I'm a poor.

I just bought a Nickel Panzer M4. Ive only put about a dozen rounds of high brass birdshot thru it but I like it. Only complaint is the stocks plastic sling mount is brittle. I broke one side trying to force a sling through it. Im gonna just bolt a standard metal sling loop from a standardI also installed a shotgunheatshields.com Vapor Eye heatshield because when I used a friends Benelli M4 in Ga's Firearms Instructor Course, the barrel became too hot to C clamp after 2 or 3 rounds of 00 buck.
