Squatting down reading labels and I noticed a long white box pushed to the back of the bottom shelf- get down one my knees and look and lo and behold, a black Panzer 7 shot tube for $39.99.  I hadn't seen it when I picked up the shotgun since I hadn't squatted.I'm going to order an extended bolt release, oversized charging handle, Wolff mag tube spring, etc and when I get my parts together I'll tear it down and clean like everyone recommends and install the parts. The black tube doesn't look too bad. I can't remember, but one of the tubes came off quite easily whereas the other took a good bit of force to get it to move. All went back together just fine and functions as intended.

I've been watching videos on updating them and most people say they have to apply heat but some have had them come off by simply twisting them so apparently sometimes they forget the locktite. Anybody got a lead on what is out there for a heat shield? Anything new? I use a C clamp for semiauto shotguns. Barrels get hot... I use a glove most of the time but its only for the square range. I found: shotgunheatshield.com They have some solutions. YMMV. Click on shop all. It brings up the Benelli M4 links. One of their photos. They use a rear ranger band for attachment. It's 29.00 bucks. Hell goon tape would work for me. I don't really care about looks just function.

Here's the newest addition. I wanted to get a lightened Bolt Carrier. So for the Price on these it just made since to go ahead and get the Panzer M4 SPEED Tactical. Well the Benelli Tube went on perfectly. So if anyone is thinking of doing that. I can say it fit Perfect! Not much more than the Panzer 7 round tube since the price increase. Plus the Benelli mag tube doesn't have the little ring that holds the handguard cup. The ring is machined in as part of the tube. Then I ran 25 rounds of Lambro Gaurd 300 9 pellet 00 Buck and 25 rounds of RIO 12 pellet #1 Buck through it today. Ran flawlessly as expected. Attached File |

I heard they were just a little nicer with fit and finish. I think I'll just order a Speed PRO for Christmas. Now I just need to decide which model/finish. There's so many different models to choose with Panzer. These guns are such a value its unreal. Talk about tough. Gonna send another 50rds down range this afternoon. |

Yeah, don't be confused by the model description being used online like TACTICAL, COMPETITION. In reality there is #1. M4 #2. M4 SPEED #3. M4 SPEED PRO The ONLY difference between the SPEED and SPEED PRO. Is the SPEED PRO has the aluminum M-Loc handguards. Personally if I want to go with a aluminum or M-Loc or whatever? I can get the ones of my choice. So finding a better deal on the ""Non-PRO"" Model was a no brainer. I found a better deal on the SPEED than I found on the Standard M4. I really like the Electroless Nickle finish on my Standard Panzer M4. However it has already flaked on my MAC1014. So it is likely a matter of time for any. So honestly in retrospect, I would just go with your favorite painted one. If the paint doesn't hold up. I will Norrell's Molly Resin it. |

Any particular Benelli M4 clone that comes close in terms of build quality, fit and finish? What's the best one out there? Would love a real Benelli but can't swing 2k for a toy shotgun. ETA: I apologize, it looks like this question was asked twice JUST on page 62. Panzer or MAC... both seem to be regarded well. |

M4 SPEED if you want a lightened Carrier, Competition Bolt Release and a match saver. It also comes with a med over sized charging handle. Oh and a ported barrel and a QD socket on back of the receiver. ETA: And a competition cut loading port. |

What are people using for bolt releases on these, the little factory button sucks and I can't believe that retarded idea ever made it into production, much less persisted. I saw this one and I like the simplicity of it, and the budget factor fits being a Turk gun. https://rxarms.com/products/benelli-m4-parts-and-accessories/benelli-m4-bolt-release-tab/ Taran has been out of stock on his that requires drilling (no issues with doing that) as well as his safety and I'm not dropping $200 on a whole drop in part for a $330. Finally got around to shooting my MAC 1014 today. The only mod so far is the Panzer magazine tube; I'd field stripped it and cleaned it when I changed the magazine tube then left the bolt locked back for about two weeks or so. I was passing PSA on my way to go hunting so I swung by to grab some cheap high velocity stuff since it seems everyone recommends high velocity rounds for breaking them in (no, I didn't chrono anything this weekend; any numbers listed are what was on the box or if I remembered it). I figured if it'll run Rio it'll run about anything. Rio 2 3/4" high brass #8 @ 1330fps was cheap so I grabbed some of that along with several boxes of inexpensive Rio 00 2 3/4" @ 1345fps. I had some reduced recoil Rio 00 on hand (1200fps) as well as a mix of other shells in an ammo can; (7.5, 8, some Remington reduced recoil 00, some Federal 00 (1325fps), Federal #4 buck and some Federal slugs- in all around 220 rounds I think, I wasn't keeping an accurate count. I shot both boxes of the Rio #8 without any issues so I shot twenty five of the high velocity buckshot, again without issue. Some reduced recoil Rio 00 (my shoulder was happier) with no problems so at that point I just started loading whatever I picked up out of the can including some lower velocity birdshot. I fired it left and right handed, I hip fired it, I held it loosely and even shot it a couple of times one handed braced against my body with my elbow. I mag dumped it as fast as I could several times too; the barrel heats up fast if you're hip firing and have your thumb over the barrel. I didn't think about trying to shoot it upside down. 220 rounds isn't that much numbers wise but I've got a bad shoulder and I'd already been shooting my pistol before the shotgun so that was all of the money I felt like turning into noise. Maybe it'll fail down the road, maybe it'll start wearing out, maybe some rounds will fail to cycle the action but today it ran 100% with a mix of rounds and just a previous cleaning and light oiling. Surprised me too. I didn't notice any wear/peening when I cleaned it so I was happy about that. Now it needs a light on the magazine clamp, a larger charging handle, some sort of larger bolt release and a sling. |
| IIRC, somebody in here cut their stock down and put a limbsaver on it but being retarded I can't find it. Anyone got any useful info? I've got monkey arms and still find the stock (fixed stock pistol grip version) is too long for a proper "combat" stance with plates on. I'd rather not spend the money on a Mesa stock if I can mod the one I already have. That said I guess I could just get the collapsing stock but I've seen some complaints about stability/collapsing while firing. I've handled a real Benelli, not the Panzer or MAC versions. |

WOW. Two years since I've been in this thread and still going strong. Great to see. This is an old pic, but my Panzer M4 is also still going strong. (7 or 800 rounds) The only actual problem it ever gave me was the cheap plastic follower that came in it started sticking in the mag tube. If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and grab one of THESE. An inexpensive no brainer upgrade. Fits like a glove and not a single problem after I put it in.

Heads up. Botach has Benelli M4 Benelli 70132 M4 Factory 5 Position Telescoping Stock Assembly. It collapses short and adjusts by push button as apposed to the twist stock. Definitely a better price than buying the whole assembly if yours works and have the ability to drill a hole and run a tap in it. I've been looking at various options since I don't want to spend $100+ when all I want is a larger, better designed release. My only hesitation is that Black River has mixed reviews on some of their parts but I may try this since Taran has been out of stock on theirs for a long time. |
