| Anyone with some experience behind both in a Bolt action setup have an opinion? I have an 82A1 and looking at buying a used 99A1 or 95 , several options with friends. Did going to the newer "Bigger" 50 brake make a measurable difference in the Barrett bolt guns? I've only shot the M82 style brake on a 99 and it was not bad. |

I've fired a hell of a lot of rounds with the different brakes on the Barrett rifles. Yes, the larger flared front, 6 port brake takes a lot of recoil out of the bolt guns. I liked shooting the M90/95 a lot. The larger brake really helps the much lighter 90/95. |
I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me and say "You're next". They stopped that when I started doing it to them at funerals.

I do NOT have experience with the the two different Barrett brakes on the bolt actions, but seeing this question reminded me of this video.  Do More Muzzle Ports Equal Less Recoil? Pt2. With Magnum Calibers You'll enjoy the 95 with the large brake, the recoil is mild but the muzzle blast will get your attention. Look up the softer Ratworx recoil pad for the Barrett's, it is worth the $35 in my opinion. |

I don't think there's any fix for that except a suppressor(never shot one). The best I have is to always keep your mouth open a bit so the pressure doesn't spike in your head. |

Shooting under a roof and shooting prone with no mat/sheet. You learn fast

But it's a full size steel double door. Another set of doors is about 10-12' in front of that set of doors with an exhaust fan drawing the fumes up and out. |
