| I have a RPR that has just south of 3K rounds through it. Most of those rounds have been put through it in large strings of fire where the barrel has very little time to cool (prairie dog hunting). I do clean the barrel thoroughly afterwards, but what kind of life can I expect out of a CHF barrel that sees quite a bit of high-volume use? |

There is a thread from 2003, when the .17 HMR was still pretty new, that folks are claiming accuracy drops off a little after 13,000 rounds, but still accurate enough to shoot ground squirrels at 17,000 rounds. I know match grade .22 LR rifles will do 100K rounds and still be shooting just fine. |
