Why dont more people have one of these? https://armsunlimited.com/bt-blueline-556-direct-thread-suppressor-1-2x28/ You can 'request a quote' for one for $400 and theyll accept it. 3D printed inconel, low-ish backpressure, half the price of B&T 'retail' SRBS or whatever can, a little heavy but not crazy, can take 6mm projectiles, etc etc I just got one in hand and put 60 rounds through it and I'm pretty amazed at the performance for only $400??? |

I dont see how you can say "underwhelming compared to other cans in a similar price range" when virtually nothing is ~$400 except otter creek polo series and those having nothing modern about them for this price range? |

IMO also because they use the phrase 'direct thread' in the description and etc for this model a lot. Its really not direct thread, it's HUB - it just happens to ship with a direct thread adapter. Lots of unseasoned suppressor buyers probably see direct thread and think it's not compatible with their mounting systems or etc. |

How deep is the blast baffle? It's hard to tell from the few YT videos I found. The videos showed it was fine with 6mm ARC, not just 5.56. A bonus. Weight was shown as 16.3 ounces with no mount. In the YT videos from a year or 2 ago, they show a much larger direct thread mount than the picture in the link of the first post. That one is almost flush mount and adds maybe a 1/4" to the overall length. What are they shipping with now? I don't do mag dumps or FRT but I'm still tempted by the price and tech. It would be dedicated to a 10.5" barrel AR. |

It would be dedicated to a 10.5" barrel AR. The one we just received shipped with a B&T lightweight direct thread mount as shown in the pics. Adds almost nothing to the length. The blast chamber is shallow in comparison to other brands. The blueline was not able to lockup properly on a short Plan B flash hider with a comstock RPB (recessed) adapter. The first blast spiral inside was rubbing on the end of the flash hider and the suppressor didnt tighten enough. We had to switch it to a standard low profile Plan B adapter instead. IMO this isnt a hug issue, as the recessed plan B adapters are pretty niche as are the longer muzzle devices. I measured the end cap hole diameter and it is about 7.2mm which means that yes it is suitable for 6mm projectiles like 6mm ARC or etc. It's the same size bore/end cap size as a 5.56 OCL polonium. |

Honestly, prob gets lost in the mix because B&T is to the suppressors like SigUSA is to their guns- Releases a new model or series every 3mos and people forget about the ‘older models’. |
I don’t like making plans for the day. Because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around in the courtroom.

B&T AG has a ridiculously huge catalog of suppressor models, last I heard it was over 700, although most aren't available in the US. |

Based on what I've seen from the two companies, I would absolutely take an OCL product over a B&T product at the same price point - modern features or not. SE dB is also not an important metric to me. Based on what I've heard from the TBAC folks, the impulse tends to reflect more accurately the potential for hearing damage. The OCL and B&T perform the exact same by that metric, and the OCL is two inches shorter and ELEVEN OUNCES LIGHTER. That matters way more to me than LBP and most civilian buyers tend to agree. There are very few people out there who want an 8" suppressor weighing 25.4oz when a 6" can weighing 14.5oz performs the exact same way in their eyes with the only tradeoff being back-pressure that you can tune for. You can't make the suppressor shorter and lighter. It's not a bad product but I am 0% surprised that it's not a popular one. |

Submitted a quote request. If it comes back at $400, I will snag one. ETA: Discount is $30 |

I have one and have purposefully abused it. It is a tank and has taken repeated red hot firing strings. I have run it with multiple different HUB mounts and all have been good to go. I like it so much I bought a second one. I have other 5.56 cans (Polonium K, Fireteam556, KGM R556, OCM5 and Heyschia) that I use for different purposes, but the B&T cans are my standard go to heavy use cans. |

For the 25.4 oz weight at the 2025 Silencer Summit, here is the picture of how it was tested. They show weight and dimensions in one picture. It has a large HUB adapater installed. You can get to these by clicking the GRAPHS link for each test then click on the picture to enlarge. https://thunderbeastarms.com/sound/summit2025/HTML/PH_04b79af0be54bb92b4492087ffbb3a54.jpg |

Mine is 7" long and weights 17.2 OZ with a Ti plan B mount. |

Thanks for the details. Based on this and some checking on the comstock armory fitment tool, the blast baffle depth is roughly 1.3-1.4 inches for the blueline. As you said, shallow. That is about the same as the fat cat with a 1.37" blast baffle depth. Direct thread looks like a good option for this one and it comes with that mount. |

A low cost, full size, heavy use suppressor for 5.56 or 6mm. If that is what you need. I'm starting to think an ecco 5x5 may be a better choice for my use especially on 14.5/16" barrels. |

Just starting to update the older stuff with the 4473 thing. It's been 4 or 5 years since I had bought anything. Curious what you think. |

He agrees they are heavy but i reminded him they are 100% inconel and made to be indestructible. Anything else you want to know? |

I would hope it’s quieter than the Rhino X, it’s 2” longer and 4oz heavier! Rhino X is also full Inconel btw. |
