I bought the subject mount off the EE here a couple months ago and didn't think much of it at the time - but now I'm wondering if the mount is authentic or not. The mount is a KAC 30mm Scope Mount, p/n 24755. Here's the thing: I have another one of these mounts (same part number, shown with the Leupold Mark 4 below) that I bought from a reputable KAC dealer years ago. Note in the pictures below the known "real" mount is engraved with the KAC shield & helmet logo, the other has an engraved KAC word mark. As I have yet to see another mount with the same marking it has me wondering if this is indeed a KAC part, or not, or if it's from a late production or limited run, etc. Any help is greatly appreciated. Photos for reference / discussion:  This is the only discernible difference between the two mounts: real 24755 with shield logo on top - Word Mark mount below...  The machining details, size and placement of chamfers and extrusion features, etc. are identical between the two mounts...  Recoil lug / screw features, grey dry lube coatings, and MIM gate locations on the clamps are again identical on both mounts...  "Forward arrow"engraving and cross bolt end-swage are same-same...  Everything looks and measures the same, with the noted exception of the "KAC" engraving. So if anyone knows the story on this / these please share. |

I’ve seen them come from Operation Parts, which I have to imagine would be legit with a few different markings over the years. The KAC logo, KnightsArmco.com, and KAC. As mentioned KAC tends to change markings over time on about everything they make so prob just an era thing. |

Maybe it's new? KAC does change things like that occasionally. I've never seen just the KAC either. I have one that has the Knight's logo and another that has FORWARD on both sides. |
