So you’ve got your approved form. You’ve got all your raw materials. At what point along the way does it need to be serialized to not be breaking the law? Because theoretically, based on the construction process you undertake, you may have what amounts to a partially or fully functional silencer that has also not yet been engraved. Or do you get a certain number of days post-completion to have it marked? Can you take it out in the backyard and test fire it some to ensure it’s all good to go before sending the tube off to an engraver? |
| I was always told it must be engraved once it’s threaded. But I’ve seen SOTs with engraved tubes that are only cut to size with zero work done. (ie. Just short pieces of pipe.) |
