I have a steyr aug that is giving me failure to fire due to light primer strikes in both 5.56 and 9mm, but espeically in 9mm. I'm thnking it is the gun and not the ammo as it is occurring with multiple (at least 4 now) different brands of ammo. Something must be impeding travel of the firing pin or the hammer. I've inspected the hammer and hammer springs and can;t see any issues. I'm planning on replacing the firing pin as a diagnostic. If that doesn;t work then I'm out of ideas. Thoughts, ideas, suggestiosn are requested and welcome. |

It appears as though the tip of my 9mm firing pin may be damaged or broken. Unfortuantely, the 9mm and 5.56 pin appear to be different with the 9mm pin being much shorter. EDIT: Oh it id defintiely freaking broken! I'm schocked the thing STILL ran at all! |
