 Sidekick 640 Pro Short Review Humidity continues to be a nightmare this time of year where I live, but tonight was a lot lower than it has been (still 80%+ as measured on my porch), and so I decided to review the Sidekick 640 Pro. Yes I could wait until winter and show you super crispy images, but this is what you can expect in the real world when it's somewhat humid, etc. More footage: This is a short video on a 70*f night at roughly 1am after a 95*f day. Humidity is 80-85% measured at location. The doe appears at roughly 90 meters distance and travels to the tree-line (which she disappears into) at roughly 150 meters distance. She is responding to a coyote call "Fawn in distress". Filmed on-board with the Sidekick 640 Pro. This unit has really impressed me even in high humidity. The sound quality as well as image quality in very high humidity environments are exceptional. I pair it, helmet mounted, with a TNVC SuperGain PVS14 for night time hunting. I typically use "Target" mode which very accurately "paints" living things in orange/yellow/red, and even on a night like tonight performs flawlessly with little to no false highlights. Sortof a "hey, the old one was half baked, here is the fix for all the issues along with a better sensor for your trouble". |

American Holoptics themselves, being a subsidiary of Koucar Management, which is owned by Joseph Caradonna and Christopher Kouza. I know nothing about them except they own some amazing cars, at one time Kouza had a Pagani Huayra and Ferrari 296. Basically they deal with mergers and development and came from parents who did same. I kindof think this is a positive move vs ownership by Ecentria Group, which is more of an e-commerce entity. |
