What do you think? For clarification I’m talking about centerfire stuff here. I think they have a time and place (HD nightstand gun, Chassis systems, woods/ranch carry, etc), but handguns are the one type of firearm that I generally don’t suppress—certainly not my EDC. It’s one of the last suppressors I would suggest for most people. |
| I'm firmly in the "Suppress all the things!" camp. Obviously I'm not going to suppress my EDG, but that is essentially the only thing I shoot now that isn't suppressed. I'm currently sitting at 17 pistol caliber suppressors. 2 of them are on lever guns, 5 of them are on PCCs of some flavor. So 10 live on pistols full time. |

Depends on what you are using it for. For a carry pistol?......probably doesn't make sense. For a .22 pistol you might use in the backyard and you don't want to bother your neighbors? Absolutely. For a range pistol that you don't want to have to mess with earplugs? Yep! I love my surpressed .22 TX-22...the can never comes off of it. It's just too handy to have it quiet. It's amazing how loud they really are after you get used to shooting them suppressed. |

I haven't quite made up my mind on this topic. I will say that I almost always shoot my pistols unsuppressed though because I'm always drawing from a holster. Not bothering neighbors makes sense, and obviously just for shits and giggles does too. For me right now it looks like this: Rifles: always. I'll never shoot another rifle unsuppressed if I can help it. PCCs: same, these are the MOST fun suppressed. Pistols: situational, but mostly no |

| "Mission dictates gear" so I think a lot about something like "edc+". It doesn't replace your regular edc, but it's just a little more stuff if you feel compelled. Mission is something like: "survive a terrorist attack at a mall, or fair or other large gathering space." I think suppressed bag gun makes lots of sense in that situation. Flux is interesting, but I think mp5k is probably the end all be all. Even a suppressed pistol in a backpack would be nice, with the addition or your regular edc pistol iwb. But also, my main edc has a threaded barrel. Keeping a smallish suppressor in a backpack, and threading it on isn't that crazy of an idea depending on the circumstance. |

Exactly....so if I'm still going to carry it, I'd rather it be comfortable at least

A lot of times its with my suppressed glock and its very nice to not put on muffs or ring my ears and all that. |

In certain situations. And you need to use a little more foresight when shopping for a suppressed pistol than you do a suppressed rifle. My Beretta 92X, with a Trijicon RMR, and a long configurations Rugged Obsidian is marvelously quiet, truly. Damn near Hollywood, for whatever that means when using subsonics. Heavy though, and very long. My CZ P-07 with a Huxwrx Flow 9k Ti is lighter, and shorter. It's also louder, but it functions well and feels smooth. My Glocks have mostly been disappointments trying to suppress. They sort of work, but they feel like they're right on the edge of what the gun wants to do, and might throw a tantrum and stop working at any moment. |

While I didn’t select PDWs, they have their role and a compact suppressor can be more additive than subtractive in that platform application. https://hosting.photobucket.com/3a5ba44e-72a5-4ded-b00a-39a4440c67c0/ca6f4b7c-ff67-4385-b190-e4b7b340aa84.jpg?width=960&height=720&fit=bounds" target="_blank">https://hosting.photobucket.com/3a5ba44e-72a5-4ded-b00a-39a4440c67c0/ca6f4b7c-ff67-4385-b190-e4b7b340aa84.jpg?width=960&height=720&fit=bounds For shits and giggles, yes, I can and have AIWB carried one of my P365’s with suppressor. Re-holstering those types of holsters are a PITA, but standard drills can be run with it in this configuration. The only issue is your wanker gets heated up after 30-40 rounds and putting that hot sucker pack in your crotch https://hosting.photobucket.com/3a5ba44e-72a5-4ded-b00a-39a4440c67c0/f5e951ff-e732-42dd-9aca-0ff588db97fd.jpg?width=960&height=720&fit=bounds" target="_blank">https://hosting.photobucket.com/3a5ba44e-72a5-4ded-b00a-39a4440c67c0/f5e951ff-e732-42dd-9aca-0ff588db97fd.jpg?width=960&height=720&fit=bounds ROCK6 I think it's important for people to keep in mind that suppression is not just about what the shooter experiences. It's about signature reduction more than anything else for me. I don't want to disturb the few neighbors I have in my area. I don't want the even fewer Karens calling the sheriff about hearing "machine gun fire" now that most of my ARs have FRTs. |

I think novelty use case is always going to be there in the centerfire handgun suppressor space, but I also think that the more quiet the suppressor becomes, the more valid it becomes as a tool. So in a manner of speaking, the performance of the suppressor is relevant to the outcome response to the question. Performance also includes baffle strike risk. If the suppressor is more foolproof, it is more useful. |

So you don't have to take apart a can, you can just put it on all the pistols regardless of some of them having 13.5x1LH and some having 1/2x28 and others having some other threads on the barrels. It's pretty handy. The adaptor also reduces the muzzle flash of the pistol, and even acts kind of like a combination brake shield and cone flash hider vis a vi putting the bullet through a narrow tube at the muzzle and pushing gas around the bullet. |

This is how Griffin Armament gets my money. A very effective ecosystem for suppressing a variety of pistols. I only have a few holsters designed for suppressed pistols, so the quick on/off Eze-Lok allows a wider variety of holster use without the suppressor but still provides pretty quick suppressor use. Niche application, but very effective. ROCK6 |
