Why would a mke navy ap5-p throw a flyer when shooting groups? Using a primary arms red dot and the included mke rail. 4 shots will be touching at 30yards then one is 8in high and 3in left. Not seeing any signs of a bullet touching inside the da wolfman. Shooting 147gr winchester. German mag. Zenith 80deg lp. Bolt gap 0.40mm Rarebreed frt-rd3 ambi(i had to use a nickel as a shim under the front of the trigger in the housing because there was too much tilt/play and the bolt carrier wasn’t able to hit the locking bar to complete a function test). Maybe a few hundered rounds through it. Bolt gap was 0.55mm after i added the 80deg lp so i added -4 rollers.

Put a utg pro rail mount on it and it still wont hold zero. Mostly vertical shot stringing. Seems to hold windage zero. No idea why. Guessing it has to be a barrel issue at this point? I’ve never had a gun i couldnt get zero’d. I know the red dot is fine because i used it to sight in and test a couple of ar15 uppers. |

I’d probably try to zero it without the optic, without the UTG rail, and without the can to see if it zeros that way. If it doesn’t, you got a lemon. If it does zero with irons, I’d try it with the can. If the problem shows up then it’s probably a concentricity issue. If it still holds with the can, I’d add the UTG rail but shoot with the irons (maybe the claw mount is putting weird pressure on the receiver), and if that still holds I’d assume it’s the red dot.
