Hey fellas, working on a small/mid sized cerakote setup. Have most everything ready to go, but my home brew oven is not working out how I hoped. I got some 1" owens corning fiberglass board insulation, but not sure I want to shrink my inside dimensions any further so thinking of other options. Has anyone used an old (1960s or older) refrigerator? From what my research tells me, they should have at least fiberglass insulation in them. Possibly redo the door seal with a high temp silicone and go? Thanks!

Also, I've researched alot. Currently running a 6 element 1800w heat source, gets very hot very quick. Turns out my exoskeleton filing cabinet cannot hold the heat well enough.

I used a Stack On gun cabinet for my oven. I made it over 20 years ago and it still works great. I used insulation and AC duct board, and aluminum tape to seal the seams, The door has a fireplace door gasket.

I have an old Brinkman electric smoker that I extended the bottom another three inches and bought one inch high temp roll insulation (fire wool) for the sides and top. I've test run it with my casting PID to control temps. This setup will give me about 26 inches of usable length and not take up a lot of floor space. I'm waiting for the fasteners to permanently attach the insulation permanently. Outside of the PID cost, I'll have less than fifty bucks in it. I don't know that I'd use a refrigerator for this project, at least under my current situation.
